Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2024
Tasting notes
One of Burgundy’s Lords, telluric and noble, like an equilibrist aristocrat beautifully balancing complexity, strength and depth. Dense yet elegant, its silky texture envelops a tannic structure of great finesse, leading to a lingering finish a great sapidity.
The Vineyard
A prestigious Climat, figurehead of Burgundy’s greatest red wines : it is here, at the Clos de Vougeot, that the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin meets. Founded at the turn of the 12th century by Cistercian monks, those who created the concept of Climats that shapes the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune, today more than ever. The soils of the Clos de Vougeot are numerous as the Clos includes 15 localities. Our plot, located in the town of “Quartier des Marei Haut”, in the upper part of the land near the Château, features a shallower and rockier soil than the lower part, leading to noble wines with great minerality.
