Nuits-Saint-Georges 2022
« Longecourts Vieilles Vignes 1929 »
120,00 €
Tasting notes
The racy and precise nose of this Nuits-Saint-Georges opens with a bouquet of ripe dark berries, hints of underwood and toast. The palate combines power and finesse with ripe and structuring tannins leading towards a long finish with notes of sweet spice and a refreshing bitterness. The wine is meant to age and will pair nicely with red meat.
The Vineyard
Located in the southern part of the appellation and exposed to the east, the parcel is composed of a clayey brown soil with low stone content. A rich, fresh and deep terroir. The resulting “Vieilles Vignes”, from our parcel planted in 1929, is a rare and profound wine.
The Vintage
2022 is synonymous with a vintage of great quality and the return of satisfying volumes.
After a mild and dry winter, the growing season arrived early. Spared by the April frost, the warm spring accelerated plant growth, favoring early flowering and optimal fruit set. After particularly dry spells during winter and spring, late June rains were timely. A hot, dry and at times scorching summer allowed for a good ripening, although in places the vines did react to hydric stress.
Mid-August rainfall will be decisive by constant sunshine until the harvests, which started on 25th August in the Côte de Beaune and 2nd September in the Côte de Nuits.
