The Vineyard
Santenay is located south of the Route des Grands Crus. The appellation stretches across 330 hectares (including 126 hectares classified as Premier Cru) with a majority of Pinot Noir. “Les Gravières” Climat derives its name from its gravel and limestone sands from the Combe de Saint-Aubin. Greyish limestones occupy the high ground up to an altitude of 500 metres. Further down the slope : oolitic limestones, white oolite, marl and limestone nodules.
